Senegal : Increases in exports in July 2023 of 6.8% noted

“THEIR ACCUMULATION AT THE END OF JULY 2023 STOOD AT 2,040.8 BILLION FCFA COMPARED TO 2,030.5 BILLION FCFA

Share In its monthly bulletin Number 7 of the month of July of Foreign Trade published this month of September, the National Agency for Statistics and Demography provides information on the previous three months and that of July 2022. According to the agency for measuring statistical data, in July 2023, “Senegal’s exports stood at 274.1 billion FCFA compared to 256.8 billion FCFA in the previous month, an increase of 6.8%”.

Compared to July 2022, they fell by 12.3%. Their cumulative amount at the end of July 2023 stood at 2,040.8 billion FCFA compared to 2,030.5 billion FCFA for the same period of 2022, an increase of 0.5%.

The main products exported during the month of July 2023 were petroleum products (79.9 billion FCFA), non-monetary gold (33.3 billion FCFA), phosphoric acid (27.8 billion of FCFA), titanium (7.6 billion FCFA) and phosphate (7.4 billion FCFA).

Regarding imports for the month of July 2023, according to the ANSD, they are “valued at 609.5 billion FCFA compared to 606.4 billion FCFA in the previous month, an increase of 0.5%”. Compared to July 2022, imports increased by 0.8%.

Their cumulative amount at the end of July 2023 stood at 3,987.6 billion FCFA compared to 3,965.3 billion FCFA for the same period of 2022, an increase of 0.6%. The main imported products during the period under review were other petroleum products (114.1 billion FCFA), other land vehicles (83.5 billion FCFA), other machines and devices (51.7 billion FCFA), base metals (41.1 billion FCFA) and rice (37.9 billion FCFA).
