NIGERIA:CFM Receives Award For Food Fortification In Nigeria

Crown Flour Mill (CFM) Limited has received an award, “Industry Leader in Quality Systems and Fortification” in Lagos.

The industry award was received in recognition of its active participation towards the launching of the inaugural Micronutrient Fortification Index (MFI) in Nigeria and for the implementation of the various food fortification index compliance guidelines in its food processing plants.

In a statement made available to our correspondent, the company said the award was given recently at the launching of MFI organised by TechnoServe Nigeria, a non-governmental organisation, under its “Strengthening African Processors of Fortified Foods (SAPFF)” programme.

Speaking on the award, Ashish Pande, the Managing Director of CFM, explained that the micronutrient fortification and self-regulation award would serve as a motivation to the company to keep deploying more resources into ensuring that consumers consistently gained access to richly fortified wheat-derivative foods
