Egypt’s gov. seeks to lure further investments to tourism industry

CAIRO – 24 May 2022: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the State seeks to lure further local and foreign investments to different areas, notably the tourism industry, which yields high returns in foreign currency, generates jobs and contributes to achieving the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs).

The premier made the remarks during his meeting on Tuesday with Chairman of "Income" Hesham Sheta and Housing Minister Assem El Gazar, as they discussed the progress made in implementing a tourist project in the western region of the New El Alamein City, said Spokesman for the Cabinet Nader Saad.

The meeting took up the steps taken to establish the "El Alamein Riviera" project, which is due to comprise a group of innovatively-designed international hotels in the North Coast area, the spokesman added.

The 10 million-square-meter project is planned to include a marina, a recreational area for families, places for practicing water sports, beach clubs, golf clubs, retail stores, restaurants, a medical city and a healing center, as well as a center for creativity and education.

The prime minister stressed that executing the "El Alamein Riviera" and other projects could contribute to turning the north west region into a global tourism destination and making the New El Alamein City one of the most important tourism cities around the world.
