Egypt : EGX flags in green for 2nd session in row
CAIRO –  19 July 2022: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday in the green zone for the second session in a row, adding around LE 8.62 billion to market capitalization, amid Egyptian purchases.
 
The benchmark EGX30 increased 1.87 percent, or 165.53 points, to end at 9,033.53 points.
 
The equally weighted index EGX 50 hiked 1.43 percent, or 22.94 points, to end at 1,627.33 points.  
 
The small and mid-cap index EGX 70 rose 1.17 percent, or 20.2 points, to close at 1,745.89 points, and the broader index EGX 100 climbed 1.30 percent, or 32.83 points, at 2,559.92 points.
 
Market capitalization gained around LE 8.62 billion, recording LE 611.59 billion, compared to LE 602.97 billion in Monday’s session.
 
The trading volume reached 394.51 million shares, traded through 34,239 transactions, with a turnover of LE 1.19 billion.
 
Egyptian investors were net buyers at LE 459.9 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 21.2 million, and LE 438.73 million, respectively.
 
Egyptian and Arab individuals were net buyers at LE 17.3 million, and LE 5.2 million, respectively, while foreign individuals were sellers at LE 3,325.
 
Arab and foreign organizations sold at LE 26.42 million, and LE 438.72 million, respectively, while Egyptian organizations bought at LE 442.62 million.
 
Cairo for Investment and Real Estate Development, Alexandria Containers and goods, and Speed Medical were top gainers of the session at 10.29 percent, 10.16 percent and 6.94 percent, respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Wadi Kom Ombo Land Reclamation, Cleopatra Hospital Company, and El Orouba Securities Brokerage were top losers of the session by 10.63 percent, 5.12 percent, and 4.93 percent, respectively.
 
On Monday, EGX traded in the green zone, as: EGX30 increased 1.08 percent, EGX 50 climbed 1.49 percent, EGX 70 rose 1.71 percent, and EGX 100 climbed 1.71 percent.
