Egypt discusses exploiting motorsports activities to increase incoming tourism

CAIRO - 16 March 2022: Egypt discussed ways of cooperation between entities on motorsports activities closely related to the tourism movement, as it is one of the elements of tourist attractions.
This came during a meeting held between the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Khaled El-Anany, Amr El-Qadi, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation, and Ali Issa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Automobile and Touring Club.
The meeting reviewed the importance of the motorsports style for revitalizing and promoting the Egyptian tourist destination, according to a press release issued, Tuesday.
It was also agreed to study a number of activities in this field, which would put Egypt on the map of sports tourism related to motorsports.
The ministry stated that the pattern of sports tourism is one of the tourism patterns that receive attention from the ministry, as it contributes to attracting different segments of tourists, especially young people, and that Egypt had previously organized events for motorsports such as the "Pharaohs Rally".
