Algeria: New laws, protecting the consumer, to be promulgated soon, Minister of Commerce says

Algerian Minister of Commerce, Mohamed Benmeradi, announced on Thursday in Algiers, that his plans is working to draft several laws and decrees, aimed at providing more protection to the consumer, adding that “the latter will soon be announced,” according to a statement , issued by the Ministry.


He also called on the professional partner to pursue awareness-raising campaigns and outreach efforts to protect the consumer and promote the national economy, through the combined efforts of professionals and the administration, the statement said.The minister said during a hearing granted to the president of the Algerian Federation of Consumers (AFC), Zaki Hariz, that “commissions are working to develop a series of laws and decrees that fall within the framework of the consumer protection “, saying that” these texts will soon be announced, “said the same source.

Benmeradi stressed the importance of such meetings, through which the ministry tends to consolidate the channels of dialogue and consultation among the various partners, emphasizing “priority” activities to protect the consumer.
