The Banque Algérienne Sénégalaise obtained its approval on Tuesday April 11 by the Senegalese Ministry (ABS) of Finance and Budget, according to a publication on LinkedIn from the National Bank of Algeria. This announcement marks the next opening of ABS, which should be the first Algerian public bank to operate outside the country.This new bank will be responsible for supporting Algerian economic operators wishing to access the Senegalese and African markets, as well as exporters to this region.

It is important to note that the National Bank of Algeria (BNA) is the main shareholder of the Algerian Bank of Senegal, with a 40% stake in the capital, alongside three other public banks. This initiative should help strengthen trade between Algeria and Senegal, as well as stimulate economic growth in the region.
