Algeria: Foreign exchange reserves to reach $ 85 billion by the end of 2018

Algeria’s foreign exchange reserves are expected to fall to $ 85.2 billion at the end of December 2018 and to $ 76.2 billion by the end of 2020, Finance Minister “Abderrahmane Raouya” said Sunday.
Speaking before the Finance and Budget Committee of the National People’s Assembly (NPA) to present the 2018 Finance Bill, Raouya argued that the currency buffer should be $ 85.2 billion (mds usd) at the end of 2018, equivalent to 18.8 months of imports, and USD 79.7 billion in 2019 (18.4 months of imports) before reaching 76.2 billion USD in 2020 (17.8 months of imports).
