Algeria : Adrar, “Ennahda,” model project of modern and promising agricultural investment

Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fishing Abdelkader Bouazgui has presented “Ennahda”, implemented in Mguiden, located in the sub-province of Timimoune (Adrar), as a model project of modern and promising agricultural investment.     

Inspecting this structuring project on an area of ​​30,000 hectares at the Mguiden perimeter (500 km north of Adrar), the minister said that “this courageous initiative reflects the strong willingness of Algerian investors to take up the challenge of agricultural development in Saharan regions and to seriously contribute to the promotion of national agricultural production.

Mr Bouazgui made the announcement of a similar project to be implemented in the wilaya of Adrar, which he said will be “another example of agricultural investment contributing directly to self-sufficiency, the country’s food security and the reduction of the import bill. ”

Concerning the Mguiden project, for which an important financing of more than 21 billion DA is devoted, its concretization, currently at 70% of progress, takes place in three phases to be completed before the end of the current year, according to its technical sheet.

It will generate over 300 jobs including engineers, technicians, and permanent and seasonal workers.


The total area of ​​the project, divided into eight (8) lots, will be devoted to different types of crops, including 50% durum wheat, 26% maize, 8% soybean, and other areas dedicated to phytuiculture and vegetable crops, according to the agricultural production plan of the project.


Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries Abdelkader Bouazgui continues Monday the second and last day of his working visit to the wilaya of Adrar by inspecting a forestry nursery, a refrigerated deposit project and an agricultural operation.
