A lgeria : Aquaculture, 13 new projects to be launched by the end of 2017

The Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, Abdelkader Bouazgui, said Monday in Algiers, that investment in aquaculture will be strengthened soon by the launch of 13 new projects that must be put into operation of a " at the end of the year, bringing the number of investments in this activity to 51 projects, compared with 38 projects currently and 22 projects by the end of 2016. The minister recalled the sector's objective to achieve a production of 100,000 tons of aquaculture production by 2025, against a production of 3,000 tons currently. With a fishery production of 100,000 tons / year, which is expected to remain stable or even decline over the next few years, the target of 100,000 tons of aquaculture production will bring the overall production of the sector to 200,000 tons by 2025.
